REGISTRATION/INFORMATION

COURSE
The course is the 3.1 or 5K loop around the Rose Bowl through the scenic Central Arroyo and around the Bowl. The event will occur on Saturday, November 3rd at 9:30 a.m. with t-shirt pickup and registration check in starting at 8:00 a.m. There is no advance pick up prior to the event day. Meet on the north side of Area H (the big open field in front of the Rose Bowl sign). See Map below.

This map also shows the Memorial Metro train station at Holly and Arroyo Parkway. You can take the train to Memorial Station then walk 2 miles to the Rose Bowl and the event start area. This is a great training walk to log for mileage (with it being a 4 mile walk if you start and return). Also, you can make a wonderful excursion of it by stopping at Walnut and Orange Grove to visit the Pasadena Museum of History and at Orange Grove and Westmoreland to tour the Gamble House, then on to the world famous Rose Bowl. For those driving, parking is available in surrounding lots at the Rose Bowl close to the start area.

OVERVIEW
Participants choosing to participate in the progressive marathon will finish their final 3.1 miles on the event day, or people can choose to do the 5K walk.  All progressive marathon participants must submit their mileage log (click on link to left download) on race day in order to qualify for  a finishers medal. This mileage log allows participants to walk or run the 23.1 miles of the marathon in the days or weeks leading up to the event. Your mileage should be verified by your walking partner or walking club. Everyone is on the honor system in terms of tracking their mileage.

AWARDS
All participants will receive a gorgeous Wild at Heart Marathon t-shirt.  All progressive marathon finishers will also receive a high quality marathon finishers medal once they complete the final 5K course.

PROCEEDS
The money raised from the participants' pledges & registration proceeds will go to both local and national heart charities dedicated to educating and advocating for women’s heart health.

REGISTRATION
Online registration has closed. There will be on-site registration the day of the event between 8:30 and 9:30 a.m. on race day (check or cash only).

PLEDGES
All progressive marathon participants should set a pledge goal for themselves such as a basic goal to collect a total of $100 or $250. You can download the pledge form here. If four people pledge $1.00 a mile, you will raise $100 immediately for these non-profits to help educate women about their heart risks. We would like to have all pledge dollars be written directly to the nonprofits we are supporting. We also want proceeds to be divided equally between the Huntington Heart Center, the American Heart Association, and WomenHeart. Please have each of your pledges write a check to a different listed charity so money can be raised equally for each charity.

5K participants who are not participating in the pledge drive will have part of the proceeds of their registration go to the heart charities.

WILD AT HEART EXPO
An informative expo will occur before and after the main event.  Learn from our vendors how to improve your fitness and heart health. There will be energetic warm up exercises and music prior to the event. Naked Juice will be handing out juice. And we will have information on healty heart living from the American Heart Ass

WATER STATIONS
At the finish and midway through the course.
